UPDATE: Seaford man killed in crash, police search for witnesses

SEAFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police say a man died after his truck went off a road and overturned in Seaford this weekend.

According to police, someone reported the accident at 7:49 a.m. on Sunday but the crash could have happened earlier in the morning or late Saturday night. A Seaford man was reportedly driving his 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck north on Alternate 13, Bridgeville Highway passing Dolby Road. The 45-year-old turned onto Dolby Road but did not turn enough on the sharp curve and his truck went off the road.

Investigators say the truck went onto a gravel road leading into a construction site and hit a pile of dirt. The truck overturned then hit a stack of new sewer piping before coming to a rest.

Police say the driver, identified as 45-year-old William D. Miller of Seaford, was wearing a seat belt but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say they do not know of any witnesses right now. If you think you have any information that might help them piece together this case, you’re asked to call the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit at Troop 7 in Lewes at 302-644-5020.
