About the Author

Kerry Cue is a humorist, mathematician and journalist who has written for every major newspaper in Australia. Kerry is also the maths blogger Mathspig. She studied Science/Engineering at Melbourne University and taught maths and science for ten years before becoming a bestselling author of twenty humorous and educational books including Life On a G-String and Australia Unbuttoned. Her recent novel on American gun culture is Target 91 (Penmore Press, 2019).

Deidre Rubenstein is regarded as one of Australia's most accomplished actresses. As a stage actress, she has starred in productions with all major Australian theatre companies and has created three highly acclaimed one-woman shows which have toured Australia and overseas. Deidre won an Australian Film Industry (AFI) award for Best Actress in the mini-series Palace of Dreams and is also a multi-award-winning narrator. Audiobooks narrated for Bolinda include Elizabeth Costello by Nobel Prize-winning author J.M. Coetzee, Gilgamesh by Joan London, Elizabeth Harrower novels and various ABC titles.

Rebecca Macauley is a talented and award-winning narrator. Caroline Lee is a gifted actor and narrator who has worked extensively in theatre, film and television. On stage, she has performed for various theatre companies including the Melbourne Theatre Company and recently appeared in The Newsreader on the ABC. A treasure of ordinary people’s stories. Linking all of them is a fundamental human desire to be whom we authethictally are and be loved and recognised as we are. Many of the narratives touch on the back story of parents, their pain and suffering and the unrealised hopes and dreams that they pass on to their children. Many relate experiences in adult life back to those formative years as a child. Often I had quiet tears rolling down my cheeks. As my late Aunty Marie, the most kind and gracious person I have ever met, would say, “Darling they are living their lives.”
