A fresh rumor from Kopite7kimi about GA106-based GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards.

NVIDIA GA106 GPU coming to RTX 3060 and RTX 3050 Ti?

The Twitter user that brought us numerous confirmed leaks in the past has now provided an update on GA106-based models. According to his information, both RTX 3060 and RTX 3050 Ti will feature a new Ampere GPU, a GPU that has not yet been officially confirmed by NVIDIA.

It is said that RTX 3060 would feature 3840 CUDA cores, while RTX 3050 Ti would stick to 3584 CUDA cores. The GA106 GPU is expected to feature a 192-bit memory controller, which suggests 6GB or even 12GB GDDR6 memory.

This would be the first time NVIDIA brings RTX technology to its x050 series. This would suggest that there will be no GTX series with missing RT cores this time around.

According to our information, the RTX 3060 is to be expected beginning January 2021, while RTX 3050 Ti might arrive between January and February. NVIDIA also plans RTX 3050 non-Ti but its specifications are not yet confirmed.

NVIDIA Hopper 5nm

Kopite also touched upon a topic of Hopper architecture. He reiterated his rumor from March this year that Ampere successor is expected to use the TSMC 5nm fabrication process. There is currently no confirmation of any Ampere refresh on the TSMC node, thus Hopper should be an even bigger change for NVIDIA.

Kopite mentioned the H100 GPU (data center accelerator) and the GH20X series of GPU. It is currently unclear why Kopite mentioned the 2xx GPU series instead of 1xx.
