Marikana farm attackers in court

Rustenburg - May 24. Four young Soweto men were arraigned in the local magistrate's court for the torture murder of Marikana farmer Nicholas van Rensburg, 35, and the wounding of his mother Hester this week. They are expected to apply for bail.

And at Dwarsloop in Bosbokrand, Northern Province, a spaza shop owner has been arrested for murder after he shot dead one of three armed robbers during a wild chase and shoot-out. Police spokesman Captain Thomas Ramatseba said three armed robbers had kidnapped two bakery truck delivery men -- but the spaza shop owner had pursued them in his own car and exchanged gun fire with the three armed robbers in a wild car chase.
