What about Luke Walton (pre-sexual harassment civil suit)?

Hollins is no nonsense coach. He would at least bring stability which might be what we need most of all right now. Vogel cant control lebron. Kidd would need good assistants.

Vogel has proven he can coach defense at least. Hollins is a fossil (literally a teammate of Bill Walton's). He's been out of the league a couple years as a coach, too. I'd prefer a total wild card like Howard who's more connected to the current game.

I agree if Vogel is not considered then give Howard a chance. At least he knows LBJ and may actually work.

I don't really want Vogel as the head coach but I would pleased if he was the first assistant on the staff.

I know she has been discussed, but why has Becky Hammon not been interviewed? I am not sure she is the best choice for basketball reasons (although she might be).....but you would definitely gets tons of positive PR....and I really do not think Lebron will mess with his image to cause her Klutch issues. Finally, it would only be fitting that one of the few female owners hire the first female head coach. Jeanie could ride that positive PR for months....maybe even play herself in the Lifetime movie.

Linda won't allow another woman to get between her and Jeanie. It's probably that simple. And they clearly don't care about PR--they'd rather have a wife beater on staff in Kidd than hire a woman coach. I mean it didn't occur to them that Kidd might be the wrong sort of hire in 2019 due to his baggage.

My question is, why fire Luke Walton if you're just going to replace him with Jason Kidd, Frank Vogel, Lionel Hollins, or Juwan Howard? These are lateral moves (Hollins and Kidd are likely downgrades, Howard is a total unknown) at best.

You might as well just ride with Luke. This will also save them some money since penny pinching seems so important to Jeanie.

I have a feeling we aren’t gonna sign any of those coaches and Lue and the Lakers will get a deal done.. at least that’s my hope.

These romona quotes are concerning

How is this concerning?
The young players we have aren't great and need to step it up..
The FO put bad compliment players around Lebron.....
Lebron himself, 5th in the league in scoring, 3rd in assists, got injured which put the season in a tailspin. The young players couldn't recover without him in the lineup.

The plan in the offseason is to get healthy, get better compliment players around Lebron and see what the kids can do or ship some out to get something better.

Concerning in that they should hire best coach period. They have had no problems throwing money away at bad coaches. How about hiring best coach

Becky Hammon

ideally she'd bring along one of her current co-assistants to make it a smoother transition

Oh, got it. Makes sense. I agree 1000%. I want the right coach, not a retread or someone unproven.

Why would she take this job? Her first HC gig.... Breaking the gender barrier, she's gonna go to this numbnuts franchise that demands a title? Pop tells Monty not to take this job but tells Hammon to take it?

Her first job will be with a smart patient franchise that will let her grow with the team.

SVG makes too much sense here
he's a strong coach that can handle LeBron
he can bring stability to this situation
he's developed young teams
he's been to the finals a couple of times with 2 different teams

He'd need to modernize his offense some, which is way to PnR heavy and not enough motion

but, he'd be head and shoulders above everyone mentioned so far - including T Lue

For continuity, I would want a coach who can be coaching for the next 10 years or so. Not sometime I know I'm going to fire in 3.

NO way. They'd want Kurt to be the associate HC and she wants full authority to assemble her own staff.

You don't REALLY have to fire him after three, the point is that he wants 5 and lakers want 3. All that equates to is money because the lakers can offer him 10 years if they wanted and still fire him after 3. It all comes down to the money. They are being cheap. Unbelievable quite frankly.
