Draymond Green is arguably one of the least valued superstars in the NBA. Despite playing a pivotal role in the Dubs' three championships in the last five years, he doesn't get enough credit for his contributions.

However, Warriors owner Joe Lacob knows exactly how important Green has been to the team, and so when the 6-foot-7 power forward signed an extension with Golden State this summer, he made a promise to the 29-year-old All-Star.

Via Alex Didion of NBC Sports Bay Area:

“When Draymond signed his extension this summer, he called me to say thank you,” Lacob told the “With Authority” podcast. “And before he could say anything else, I said ‘I only have one word to say to you' and there was a long pause.”

“And he said ‘What's that?' Statue.”

Lacob, along with producer Peter Gruber, purchased the majority team ownership stake in the Warriors in 2010, initiating a chain reaction of moves that would culminate in the franchise's first title in 40 years in 2015. Lacob and Gruber installed Bob Myers as general manager, leading to the hiring of head coach Steve Kerr, who unlocked the inner dynamo in Draymond Green.

Green would turn into a small-ball center under Kerr and eventually the league's Defensive Player of the Year in 2016-17. Green, who will probably be a Warrior for the next five years, is also a three-time All-Star and five-time All-Defensive team honoree.
