My Students

The pandemic has hit us unlike anything that we've ever seen. Schools, businesses, and parks have all closed down leaving children nowhere to go to have fun, especially in urban areas.

I teach at a Title I school in Knoxville, TN.

We have around 100 kindergartners who are almost all free or reduced lunch. The neighborhood loves their teachers, so let us show them a little love back.

My Project

We all know that little kids need to get their wiggles out, even adults tend to have a hard time sitting still! When children can't get their wiggles out, it is harder for them to focus. When it is harder for them to focus, less learning is happening. You see where I'm going here...

I want to sent home a trampoline to ever student in my class so that they can have a chance to get some movement in during the day.

Not only will it help them focus more, but hopefully it will provide a healthy outlet for them to let out some steam. We could all use some more brain breaks in our day.
