School Counselor Advisory Council to hold virtual meeting Jan. 28

(FRANKFORT, KY) – The School Counselor Advisory Council (SCAC) will hold a virtual meeting at 3 p.m. ET on Jan. 28.

The SCAC is designed to provide the Commissioner of Education with direct input from counselors who serve in Kentucky's public schools. Bridging the gap between policy and practice, the SCAC advises the commissioner on educational priorities that meet the needs of the whole child, ensuring the provision to our community a transition-ready workforce.

The council allows for discussion and feedback from the field on topics that will lead to the improvement of Kentucky's public schools and the opportunities they afford students.

Pursuant to Executive Order 2020-243 and a memorandum issued by the Finance and Administration Cabinet dated March 16, 2020, and in an effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the School Counselor Advisory Council will meet via video teleconference. Members of the public will not be permitted to attend the meeting in person, but are encouraged to view the meeting on the Kentucky Department of Education's Media Portal.
