Eternal Hope Announcements for August 9

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Main Street Living airs each Sunday at 9 a.m. on WFTC Channel 29/9-2 with an episode of This is the Life. This week’s episode, “One Hour to Live,” is about how divine forgiveness for the truly penitent assures a man, all in the nick of time.

The worship service will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Jesse Davis from Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. His message, “It is Jesus, don’t be afraid! Yet fear remains . . .” will be based on Matthew 14:22-33. For more information or to watch the program, go to mainstreetliving.com and select the “Twin Cities” tab.

THREE OPPORTUNITIES TO WORSHIP
Hebrews 10:23-25 – “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

8 AM & 10:30 AM As we continue to meet in the sanctuary under coronavirus guidelines, members are asked to sign-up for worship on Sign-Up Genius.

DRIVE-IN SERVICE AT 9:30 AMWe will gather for another Drive-In Service   Drive-in Services will go on regardless of weather.  These services will continue for the foreseeable future, and they will be very similar to the YouTube Service.

YOUTUBE SERVICE – Our 8 am Worship Service will be livestreamed on YouTube.  Following the completion of the live stream, the service will also be able to be viewed.  Check out our YouTube Page.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER   God has given us the privilege and the responsibility to be His stewards.  As His stewards, we are to protect and expand what God entrusts to us.  The word steward is rarely used in our society.  Other words or terms can be used to describe our roles as stewards, but they do not carry the richness as the word steward.  The word “caretaker” fails to capture the relationship laid on the steward.  “Manager” doesn’t convey the relationship between us and God.  The word “agent” seems too business-oriented and too self-serving.  “Custodian” is too passive a term.  “Ambassador” is used primarily as a political term.  Our God Who made heaven and earth has given us the honor to be His stewards, and He equips us to be faithful in that role.

TECH HELP NEEDED---Eternal Hope's website is in need of an update.  We will be changing our website template and software.  Looking for anyone interested in helping implement this change.  Teens and adults with some computer skills and/or background please consider joining us. We are looking for fresh ideas and knowledge.  If interested or have any questions, please email bjolayne@yahoo.com.  Our future goal is to form a Technology / Website committee to keep our website current and relevant.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL   We are now two weeks into our VBS, but you are still invited to join us as we gather online for VBS in 2020, and please register here for our YouTube VBS.  Since we are online, any age can participate in our VBS.

SCHEDULE
Each Sunday, we will gather for a parking lot kickoff to VBS at 6 pm.  This kickoff will last around 15 minutes, and we will introduce the theme for the week and enjoy some distanced fellowship.

We will also have craft pick-up from 6 pm to 7 pm, so even if you are unable to make it to the kickoff, you will still be able to pick-up the craft for the week.  If you will not be able to make it for one of the craft pick-up times, please let me know, and I will prepare multiple weeks for you.  We will also collect Back to School items during this time.

THREE WEEKS OF LESSONS
July 26 - Moses and the 10 Commandments Playlist
August 2 - Daniel in the Lion's Den Playlist
August 9 - A New Heaven and a New Earth
Each week will include 7 videos with a total running time of approximately an hour.  They will be released each week at 5 pm as a playlist on our YouTube page.  You are in control of how you watch the videos, so they can be binged all at one time or spread out throughout the week.

CLOSING CELEBRATION
On Sunday, August 16 at 6 pm, we will have a socially distanced picnic to close out our VBS.  We will grill, sing songs and enjoy some community.  As part of our closing celebration, we will also make a video of your kids taking part in our VBS.  Please send pictures or videos of your kids participating in different parts of the videos.
