Jarrett Fujita

Jarrett Fujita is in his third year as an assistant coach for the Chaminade Univeristy women's volleyball team. He was elevated to the full-time assistant spot in February 2019 after spending the 2018 season in a part-time capacity.

In his first full year as the primary assistant, Fujita helped guide the Silverswords to a 22-8 mark, the first-ever consecutive 20-win seasons enjoyed by the program. The team spent nearly seven weeks in first place of the Pacific West Conference, aided by a school-record 13-match winning streak as well as 12 conference wins in a row, another record. He also helped junior right-side hitter Rachel Reedy become just the second Chaminade player to earn AVCA All-America status and senior outside hitter Emma Tecklenburg finish second in the school's all-time kills list with 1,292.

In his first year as a part-time assistant, Fujita helped return the program to national prominence, qualifying for their first NCAA West Regional since 2004. Their historic 23-win season established a new standard while the Silverswords' 17 Pacific West Conference victories is also a program record. Their third-place finish in the PacWest is also the highest since 2007 when the conference had seven teams. Five 'Swords were recognized with all-conference honors with junior outside hitter Emma Tecklenburg also earning all-region recognition.

Fujita has been coaching locally on O'ahu since 2009 and began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Saint Francis School in 2009 then becoming the junior varsity head coach a year later.

In 2011, he went to Punahou School, coaching the Buff 'N Blu for six years. During his tenure there, he was an assistant for the intermediate, junior varsity and Varsity 2 teams, winning a combined four Interscholastic League of Honolulu championships.

Fujita has also coached in the club level as a head coach and assistant for the Asiscs Rainbow Volleyball Club and the head coach for the Mauloa Volleyball Club. He is currently the club head coach for the Hana Hou 17s.

Fujita is no stranger to the hills of Kalepohaku, graduating from Saint Louis School in 2005, earning All-ILH Second Team and all-state honorable mention honors. He played collegiately at Missouri Valley College as an outside hitter and libero before injuries hampered his final two years with the Vikings. Fujita received his degree in Chemistry from Missouri Valley in 2009.
