COLLEGE PARK, Md. -  The No. 24 Maryland men's basketball team is set to close out regular season play as it hosts Minnesota Friday, March 8 at 7 pm. The Terps have the potential to be either the 4-seed or 5-seed in next week's Big Ten Tournament depending on Friday's outcome and a few other games around the conference.

ARRIVE EARLY: Fans are encouraged to arrive early to celebrate Senior Day! Fans should also be prepared for heavy traffic from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. For more information, click here.

STORYLINES
• Maryland holds an 8-2 advantage in the all-time series against Minnesota, including wins in three of the last four meetings. The Terps defeated the Gophers on the road earlier this year, 82-67. Maryland's three leading scorers had excellent games with Anthony Cowan Jr. posting 27/6/5, Jalen Smith notching 21 and 8 and Bruno Fernando adding 10 points and 11 rebounds.

• Prior to Friday's game against Minnesota, the Terrapins will celebrate the careers of seniors Andrew Terrell and Ivan Bender.

• Junior Anthony Cowan Jr. scored 15 points against Penn State to become just the sixth player in Maryland history to record 1,300 points and 400 assists in a career. He joined an impressive group that includes Greivis Vasquez, John Lucas, Johnny Rhodes, Walt Williams and Melo Trimble.

•  According to NCAA.com, Maryland has played the 14th toughest schedule in the country and is expected to play the 11th toughest by regular season's end. The Terrapins have already surpassed their win total from last season despite boasting the third youngest team in the country (351 of 353) according to KenPom.com.

• Sophomore Bruno Fernando has recorded a double-double in 10 of his last 12 games after posting 12 points and 10 rebounds against #9 Michigan. Fernando's 19 double-doubles on the season are tied for the fourth-most in program history and rank sixth nationally. A 20th double-double would tie Fernando with Joe Smith (1993-94) for third-most in a season in program history.

• The Terrapins rank 16th nationally in field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to 39.6 percent shooting. Maryland has held four of its last seven opponents under 37-percent, and rank 25th overall in adjusted defensive efficiency according to KenPom.com.

•  The Terps remain one of the best rebounding teams in the nation, ranking fourth in the country and first in the Big Ten Conference in rebound margin (+8.9).

•  Bruno Fernando was named one of 10 players to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award list (top center), becoming the first Terp to be named to the list since its inception in 2015. Fernando currently leads the Big Ten Conference (9th nationally) in field goal percentage (.633), ranks second in rebounds/g (10.5) and is third in blocks/g (2.0).

•  Terp Tendencies: Maryland has won all 21 games it has played when leading with 5:00 to play; Maryland is 14-0 when holding opponents under 40-percent shooting; Maryland is 14-1 when it makes more free throws than its opponent.
