Ryan Reynolds tells Deadpool 2 costar Josh Brolin he 'dresses like an old George Hamilton' as the vet counters 'you have a small penis'

Deadpool is known for his verbal lashings.

And Ryan Reynolds showed how much he has in common with his comic book hero character on Tuesday, when the actor traded insults with Deadpool 2 costar Josh Brolin.

The 41-year-old Van Wilder star and the 50-year-old No Country For Old Men actor took verbal jabs at one another as part of BBC Radio 1's Playground Insults segment.

The rules of the game were simple: that each actor had to insult the other until one of the veteran actors 'absolutely loses it' or someone drops a 'killer insult.'

Reynolds opened the game with a bizarre sledge, calling Brolin: a 'muffin smuggling pirate puncher.'

To which Brolin sarcastically replied, 'Here's my first insult: Ryan, that was really funny.'

The Milk actor then insulted the younger star's biggest box-office flop: Green Lantern.

'You're tall, you're handsome, you have the perfect amount of scruff and you still have no talent. Let's talk about the obvious thing, Green Lan-turd. 

'End of career, and yet you're still going. Why? None of us can understand.' 

Reynolds' next insults turned personal, with him telling Brolin: 'You smell so bad I can hear it' and 'You dress like an old George Hamilton.'

Josh returned fire with a burn that was below-the-belt: 'I was surprised during our sex scene how small your penis was and how big your balls were.'

Ultimately, Josh was declared the winner of the game - by Josh himself.

'You know what, there were a couple of moments that I think Ryan fully superseded my wit, but I think as a general primitive insulting guy, I think I won,' declared the Avengers: Infinity War star. 

'I feel genuinely hurt,' conceded Reynolds.
