Life in Provence

Bonjour mes amis,

Let's talk about food. Ok, you might think I talk about food a lot...and you would be right. Food is a national obsession in France (wine, too) and I've definitely caught the bug.

One of my favorite restaurants is Le Clos Saint Roch in nearby Maussane. The chef once won the award for Best Value Restaurant in Paris and now he's opened a place in Provence. He serves top-quality, reasonably-priced food in a beautiful and comfortable setting. Read my article about this restaurant to see why Val and I go there so often.

And then there's gluten-free dining. I know, I know--you are probably thinking "ick." But let me tell you about the greatest gluten-free restaurant in the world, the only one with a coveted Michelin star, that's not far from my home base of St-Rémy. The food there is so good--including the bread!--that you would never know there's not a speck of gluten to be found. It's a restaurant that you should definitely check out for your next "special occasion."

The French love their long meals, like the traditional Sunday lunch. But what is it like when your neighbor invites you to her birthday luncheon...and the platters of food never stop coming? Find out how Val and I survived (hint: we snuck out before it was over).

                                               Big bisous,

                                               Keith
