Introducing Wylie Shanks, our Conservation Accredited Architects

In September 2020 we appointed Glasgow based Wylie Shanks Architects as our dedicated Conservation Accredited Architects.  Their Conservation Partner, Wendy Corrigan, a member of the National Trust for Scotland’s Board of Trustees, is overseeing the Mauchline CARS projects.

Wendy’s role includes preparation of a Conservation Area Management Plan (CAMP) and the design and implementation of a public realm scheme to revitalise the extensive public areas which wind through the centre of Mauchline.

Wendy said:

‘We at Wylie Shanks Architects are delighted to be working with East Ayrshire Council to develop the Mauchline CARS scheme over the next five years.  Having been involved with a number of CARS funded projects in the past we have seen first-hand the huge benefits that this investment can bring to communities.  This is an exciting opportunity for Mauchline.’

Wylie Shanks are available to work with potential Grantees on the design and implementation of other eligible conservation projects throughout the town. These will vary from Major Building Repair Schemes for Priority and other high profile buildings, to small shopfront improvement schemes and architectural restoration projects.
