I listened to TG Wolff’s Mysteries to Die For podcast reading of Widow’s Run when she first released it a couple years ago and fell in love with her writing and her podcast. But, with the release of her new book Psycho Therapy I thought it was the to actually read it and immerse myself in all things Diamond.

Diamond is brash, rude, and abrasive. But you can see the devastation and pain she’s covering and thinks she can overcome by finding out who killed her husband and why. The myriad of misfits she picks up along the way at a testament to the heart that lies beneath the brusque facade.

I absolutely love the chapter headings they’re fun, snarky and so appropriate. Seeing how they fit was like clicking in an additional puzzle piece.

I’m happy to share that I enjoyed Widow’s Run even more the second time though… Though missed the accompaniment.

Having already read Exacting Justice which is also an awesome mystery that I didn’t want to put down, I knew I had to pre order Widows Run and couldn’t wait the entire month or so until I could start reading. Once I got my hands on it, it only took me a little over 2 weeks to finish it cause I didn’t want to put it down. As I read I found every emotion carefully intertwined with diamonds life, even through her hurt she was able to have fun and keep going to accomplish her goal. Then every time I thought I knew what happened I didn’t lol but it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat not wanting to put it down. I absolutely cannot wait to read what comes next from TG Wolff.

My Thoughts: Usually not my favorite genre but after reading the opening line how could I not become intrigued enough to continue.

Opening line: "They buried me today and I had the balls to show up."

Thus introducing our mourning widow, "Diamond" her CIA cover at her own funeral faking her death going undercover once again to find out if her husband's demise was a tragic accident like everybody believed at first or a murderous cover-up that the Italian police have washed their hands of.

I loved Diamond so much! She is snarky and sassy and just an all out great fun character! This was an utterly entertaining, action filled, and thrilling read and I so look forward to seeing what Diamond gets into or uncovers next!

First, let me just say, if you're looking for the standard police procedural mystery book, this ain't it. Widow's Run is a nonstop roller coaster ride of chaos and suspense with a lead character who's not afraid to speak her mind...and has the resources to back her words up. Determined to find the true reason behind her husband's death, Diamond will stop at nothing to get the answers...including faking her own death and then showing up in disguise at the funeral. Both her tongue and mind are sharp as a whip, making this a super fun read. Cannot wait to read the next in series!
