Using MS Power Platform, Azure IoT Central, Windows Co-pilot & Python to test landing profile of a "blind" (no gps) drone. Tons of fun & safety is job# 1! Greetings folks, here's an example of testing a "blind" drone (fly/land without GPS) with following details: 1. Input to drone landing profile is through Power Apps/SharePoint. 2. The data orchestrator is Azure IoT Central (device registration, commands & telemetry) and Power Automate (connect Power Apps to Azure IoT Central). 3. The engine that controls hardware (ancient Pixhawk on Raspberry Pi) is Python & its related libraries. 4. Used Windows Copilot to research libraries and aspects of control & if you know what you're doing, an amazing experience! Thank you Microsoft! Using Microsoft Power Plat., Python & a modified low pass filter to correct noisy & real time data streams from sensors, critical while designing drones. Greetings folks, hope all well. Below are steps to creating this solution: 1. The modified low pass filter is developed in python. If data from the real time stream from sensor is beyond a certain threshold, the filter replaces the noise spike with a prior value. 2. The input to the drone motors is from Power Apps. 3. The output from the sensors goes to Power BI and the tiles are further embedded in Power Apps. Component & pricing standardization in automotive with MS Power Plat. (+NLP), Fabric & Teams- a simple way to drive efficiencies & save millions! Greetings folks, hope all well. Kindly see details below: 1. Component commonization and lowest price for common components across carlines, especially with electronic modules is key to drive efficiencies in automotive & other mfg. With razor thin margins, every little bit helps. 2. We start with getting our bill of materials (BOMs) into Microsoft Fabric (for planning purposes) and to a SharePoint list during RF responses for speed. 3. We built a datamodel in Power BI and use the AI-NLP feature to identify common components, costs across lines and standardize pricing to get an idea of savings. 4. We send this to the RF team/SLT to get approvals and update the system to get the lowest possible cost for the increased volumes thereby driving cost savings often times in the millions. Animating Bessel functions with Python, Microsoft Power Apps, Automate and Azure IoT Central. Super learning & fun for physics & engineering students, professionals & researchers. Greetings everyone, hope all well. Here's an example of animating vibrations of a circular membrane (solutions to Bessel functions) using Python, Microsoft Power Apps, Automate and Azure IoT Central. A few steps: 1. Python provides us libraries to find the roots, zeros and animate the modes of vibrations. 2. Microsoft Power Apps can be used to input parameters dynamically to control the animation. Makes life really easy for engineers. 3. Power Automate and Azure IoT Central act as a plumbing to carry messages from Power Apps to Python. At some point, will also add hardware to do a real experiment :-).
