TOYS FOR TOTS – Dear Members of Eternal Hope Lutheran Church!  Eternal Hope has been selected as a registered community drop off site for the 2020 Toys for Tots Campaign.  The drop off hours will be Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 2PM, December 6, and December 12th and 13th.

We can give in two ways:
  • First, there will be a table setup in the Narthex and outside on the sidewalk on Sunday mornings if you would like to donate toys.
  • Second, you can donate your time as a family or individual.  The plan is to have tables and boxes setup on the sidewalk outside the Church for the community to drop off toys.  You would need to setup the tables and boxes, direct people where to place the toys and then put the toys and tables back in the church afterward.
Please sign up here.  There are two one hour blocks each day if you would like to fill them both please do so. Dress as festive as you like!  You can direct any question to Mark Shaffer.  God’s Blessings!

SNOW SHOVELING – if you are able to help shovel sidewalks please contact the Board of Stewardship.

2021 CALENDARS are available for purchase for $8 from the Senior Youth.  Please talk to Andy if you would like one.  They make great gifts for Christmas!

LWML Mite Reminder We are currently collecting mites in the big Mite Box every Sunday.   The box is on a table in the narthex.  If it is more convenient, mail your mite donation to Donna Neumann, WOEH Treasurer.  Thank you for “Serving the Lord with Gladness”.

LWML MN South Mission Goal of $265,000 for 2020-2022
YOUR MITES AT WORK:                                                                                  The Timothy Scholarship - Mayer Lutheran HS - $15,000
This Scholarship provides tuition assistance to non-Lutheran families, who are unchurched or nominally Christian, so that they will pay less tuition than a Lutheran family to attend Mayer Lutheran High School.

MAIN STREET LIVING  airs each Sunday at 9 a.m. on WFTC Channel 29/9-2 with an episode of This is the Life. This week’s episode is from the Lutheran Hour Animated Series “The Stableboy’s Christmas” and features a family that experiences the excitement of the holidays while trying to keep the true meaning of Christmas at the center of their preparations.

The worship service will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor David Becker from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Aitkin, MN. His message, “Comfort, Comfort My People,” will be based on Isaiah 40:1-11. For more information or to watch the program, go to mainstreetliving.com and select the “Twin Cities” tab.

MITTEN TREE COLLECTION We will again collect mittens, gloves, hats and scarfs for CEAP.  This year we will do it a bit different because of COVID.  Please put your donations in the designated totes in the narthex rather than on the tree.  Collection will continue until Dec 13.  New and very gently used items are welcome.  Thanks for helping others keep warm & toasty this winter.

STEWARDSHIP  The four Sundays prior to Christmas are the four Sundays of Advent, which begin the Church year.  The purpose of Advent is not only to prepare us to celebrate the birth of Jesus which occurred over two thousand years ago but also to prepare us for His second coming.  Jesus, Who came to us in a stable, will come again when the trumpet sounds in glory on the Last Day.  The New Testament stresses that Christians must be ready at all times for the second coming.  We are to live with joyful expectation.  Whether by Jesus’ return or our own deaths, we should always be prepared to meet Him.  Peter wrote, “The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers” (1 Peter 4:7).
