Hi,
I'm having issues printing, mostly from Microsoft Excel, to the "Adobe PDF" printer.
When I click File > Print, and hit the dropdown to change my printer, as soon as I click the "Adobe PDF" printer, excel gets hung up and there is a recurring "Accessing Printer" popup that will close and open for several minutes (I tested, and the time taken scales pretty linearly with how many pages I'm attempting to print to PDF). Once I'm finally able to click the Print button, It takes about the same amount of minutes before it finally gives me the dialog box to save my PDF.
Any idea how to fix this? My IT department hasn't been able to solve it.
I use the last version of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI. My colleague is having the same issue, and she and I have different versions of both Excel and Windows which leads me to believe it is an adobe issue.
Thanks!
Jason

Hi Jason,
Thanks for reporting the issue here.
Acrobat Pro XI is end of life several years ago; we do not provide support of that anymore.
The reason could be due to the latest version of MS Office update.
Please update to latest version of Acrobat Pro DC so as to get more feature(s) and support as well.
Still if you wish to work with the same version; i suggest to uninstall Acrobat using the Adobe Cleaner Tool from https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
And install the same back after a system reboot. The issue should be resolved by the same.
Please do let us know, if anything else is required from our end.
Regards,

Hi Swapnil,
I have the same issue and I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

I have had several users with this same issue. We are using Acrobat Professional 2017.
The solution that Swapnil recommends I have not yet tried. However if I was going to have to do that for the entire company, that would be an unacceptable fix. For one that would be a manual process and therefore very time consuming. Second, with work from home, you would have to rely on the user's Internet connection which could be extremely slow or total crap.
There needs to be an actual fix for this issue.

I took one of the workstations exhibiting this issue, and unintalled Acrobat, used the cleaning tool and rebooted. I then reinstalled and updated. The problem still persisted.

Seeing this on a few machines now as well, predomintaley from Excel. The biggest delay is when it is trying to show the print preview when selecting the Adobe PDF from the printer list. Computers with Windows 7 and Windows 10, with Adobe Acrobat 2017. Upgraded to Adobe Acrobat DC Pro using the cleaner to remove 2017 then installed DC Pro but issue still exists.

I resolved by uninstalling the latest ‘Security Update for Adobe Flash Player’ from Windows Updates. The PC is Windows 10 v1909.

Following my update, the issue returned after further updates were installed (Windows and PC specific). Uninstalling them has not helped fix the issue. However, upon further testing, I have found that the issue is evident when Excel files have scaling configured i.e. 'Fit Sheet on One Page'. When no scaling is set (either via Print or Page Layout) the issue is not (so) apparent. I had to swap the PC to help the user.

I'm having the same issues with one of our end users. Anyone have a solution for this yet?
