Ciara is already a boss lady, having just launched her own company, Beauty Marks Entertainment. Now, the songstress will have the degree to go along with her new business venture.
According to People, Ciara was accepted to Harvard University’s Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports program. The prestigious Ivy League school’s website says “through an up-close examination of why some creative businesses thrive while others fail to survive, you will learn when to make smaller versus blockbuster bets, the best way to capitalize on market disruptions, and how to establish long-term competitive advantage.”
Beauty Marks is her seventh album total and first under her new company. “I’ve always been very vocal since the beginning of my career, whether it’s writing the music or how I want my image to look on a video or a project,” the singer told Billboard of being her own boss. “I don’t think that’s gonna ever change and now I get to really have open and real raw dialogues with my team. I also don’t know everything either, but at the same time, it’s great to sit with my team and talk it all through.”
Ciara took to Instagram, decked in a Harvard sweater, to announce the news. “I always dreamt of going to college, but by God’s grace, my music career took me on a path that I’m so thankful for,” she wrote. “This week I got accepted into Harvard! Words cannot describe my excitement!”
