Empowered Women, Empower Women: Self-Defense Workshop at Lawrence School
Date and time
Location
Lawrence Upper School
10036 Olde 8 Road Sagamore Hills, OH 44067Description
Research confirms that throughout her lifetime, a girl has a 30% chance of of experiencing sexual violence or being involved in a controlling or violent dating relationship. That’s one in three. To combat this statistic, ROX has been committed to contributing to a safer, accessible and equitable world for girls. The Lawrence School community joins ROX in supporting the safety and confidence of girls and women and invites girls 10 years of age and up along with an adult female in thier life (mother, grandmother, aunt, etc.) to join us for this special event.
In this powerful all-female environment, ROX will share recent data and statistics and dispel common myths around violence before teaching evidence-based techniques. Participants will have the chance to practice these techniques and will leave empowered with the skills and strategies necessary to stand up for themselves in challenging or threatening situations.
*Lawrence School kindly requests that participants bring a feminine hygiene product donation to the the workshop. Collected products will be donated to local women in need.*
