Aim Arena Classic is an official game mode that can be selected when creating a game lobby in Diabotical. It mimics the settings of Quake Live Clan Arena.
From the Diabotical patch notes Version 0.20.427 (December 3, 2020):
"There is now a mode called Aim Arena Classic which has the same rules as Aim Arena but with 200 armor instead of 100 and only one life per round. It is available for community matches and in pickups."
Prize pool: $100 commitment from GetCracked staff - and we will be taking donations and looking for sponsors in an effort to increase the prizing!
Format: 4v4, double elimination bracket (subject to change based on number of signups - for example, a round-robin or group stage may be preferable in place of or in addition to a bracket).
Maps: Classic QL maps that many of you will be familiar with.
The final map pool may include more maps or fewer maps based on player feedback, and there may be a poll in the future to insure each participant's voice is heard. There will be a pick/ban process to determine which map(s) from the final map pool are played in an individual match, so teams will have an opportunity to avoid certain map if desired.
