👩‍🏫  OUR GOAL 👩‍🏫  
The objective of the mentorship program is to support the academic and professional development of first year women and gender minorities enrolled at Carleton University by connecting them to mentors in upper years for the duration of the Winter Semester.

🌟 MENTEE ROLE 🌟
As a mentee, the program aims to connect you to upper year students with similar experiences to you who can provide guidance, moral support and friendship during the crucial transition to university life. This is considered a volunteer role for WiSE, and is eligible to appear on your CCR (Co-Curricular Record) at the end of the year.

📝  WHO CAN APPLY? 📝
All mentees must be first year students that are women or gender minorities enrolled in STEM programs.

Applications close on FEBRUARY 4, 2022
Acceptances will be going out on a rolling basis - after applying you will be paired with a mentor using our Slack platform

WiSE Mentee Role and Expectations
As a mentee, this is a volunteer role eligible for CCR credits at the end of the year. As a result, we expect a level of responsibility and responsiveness from all participants. Please read the following expectations and press yes on the following question if you are able to commit to all of these responsibilities.

As a mentee, I am responsible for...

➤ Being available for a 30min - 1hr long call with your mentor on a bi-weekly or weekly basis depending on what is decided. Please note this requires stable access to Wi-Fi and a computer with a working mic/camera.

➤ Rescheduling with my mentor at least 48 hours in advance if I am no longer able to meet with them.

➤ Responding within 48 hours via slack or email when contacted by a mentor or the mentorship program for feedback.

➤ Being friendly and having fun!
