AQW Image Search Discord Bot Privacy Policy Effective date: June 20, 2026 This Privacy Policy explains how the AQW Image Search Discord bot ("the Bot") collects and uses information when you use it in Discord. The Bot is an unofficial, independent fan utility. The Bot operator is not part of Artix Entertainment, AdventureQuest Worlds, AQW Wiki, or Discord Inc. 1. Summary The Bot collects the minimum information needed to receive slash commands, search AQW item data, return results, maintain pagination, debug issues, and understand basic search usage. The Bot does not sell Discord user data, does not use Discord data for advertising, and does not intentionally profile users. 2. Information the Bot may receive When you use the Bot, Discord provides interaction data needed to run the requested command. Depending on the command, this may include: - Your Discord user ID. - Your Discord username. - Slash command names and command options, such as text search queries, tag filters, count values, background choices, color values, shop names, and pagination input. - Uploaded image attachment metadata and the Discord attachment URL when you use /search-by-image. - Uploaded image bytes when you use /search-by-image, so the Bot can create an image search. - Server-related interaction context needed by Discord to send command responses and files, such as upload limits. The Bot is designed around slash commands. It does not intentionally collect or store ordinary channel message content. 3. Information the Bot logs The Bot may keep operational logs and search history records. These records may include: - Timestamp. - Discord user ID. - Discord username. - Search query or command description. - Uploaded image attachment URL for /search-by-image. - Search type. - Tag filter. - Requested result count. - Basic timing, result count, top result name, and error information. These records are used to operate the Bot, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and understand basic search usage. 4. Uploaded images When you use /search-by-image, the Bot reads the Discord attachment and uses it to process the search. The Bot does not intentionally save uploaded image files as permanent Bot-owned files. It may log the Discord attachment URL. Discord may continue to host the attachment according to Discord's own systems, server settings, and policies. If a third-party search provider is enabled, uploaded image query data may be sent to that provider only as needed to return search results. 5. Search results and temporary data The Bot may temporarily keep search result pagination data so only the requester can use the result controls. This temporary data may include the requester's Discord user ID, result references, and page state. It expires automatically or is cleared when the Bot restarts. The Bot may generate and upload result grid images to Discord. Those response messages and uploaded files are handled by Discord and may remain visible in the channel according to Discord and server settings. 6. AQW item data The Bot uses AQW item names, item links, tags, item images, colors, and shop metadata to return search results. This data is about game items, not Discord users. 7. How information is used The Bot uses collected information to: - Process slash commands. - Search item, image, color, tag, and shop data. - Return Discord responses and result grids. - Restrict pagination controls to the original requester. - Debug errors and performance issues. - Review aggregate search behavior and improve Bot functionality. - Enforce safety, security, and abuse-prevention rules. 8. Sharing The Bot operator may share information only as needed to: - Operate the Bot through Discord. - Use service providers, such as hosting providers or optional third-party search providers. - Investigate abuse, security issues, or rule violations. - Comply with legal obligations or valid requests from Discord or authorities. The Bot operator does not sell Discord user data and does not disclose Discord user data to advertising networks or data brokers. 9. Retention Temporary pagination data expires automatically or when the Bot restarts. Search history and operational logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed to operate, troubleshoot, improve, and protect the Bot, unless a longer retention period is required for security, abuse prevention, or legal reasons. Discord may retain command interactions, messages, attachments, and uploaded files according to Discord's own policies. 10. Your choices You can avoid collection by not using the Bot. You can avoid uploaded-image processing by using text, color, browse, or shop commands instead of /search-by-image. You may request deletion of Bot-side logs associated with your Discord user ID by contacting the Bot operator. Include your Discord user ID and approximate dates or commands so the operator can locate the records. Some data may not be recoverable or removable from Discord-controlled systems by the Bot operator. 11. Security The Bot operator uses reasonable operational measures to protect Bot data, but no system can be guaranteed secure. Do not submit private, sensitive, confidential, financial, health, authentication, or legally protected information to the Bot. 12. Children's privacy The Bot is intended only for users who are old enough to use Discord. It is not directed to children under 13 or to anyone below the minimum age required in their country. 13. Changes to this Privacy Policy This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Bot after an update means you accept the updated policy. 14. Contact For privacy questions, deletion requests, or reports, contact the Bot operator through the support Discord server or contact link provided by the Bot's /help command, or through the repository or distribution page where the Bot is published.
