Want to spend 1-2 hours a week volunteering from the comfort of your couch? Come be a Virtual Team Manager (or Co-Team Manager) for Wisconsin Destination Imagination! You do not need to be located in Wisconsin to join our team.

All challenges for the 2020-2021 season will be written to be solved virtually by teams, and our Affiliate Tournament will be held virtually as well. As school districts across the state (and country) are implementing new rules for after school programs (or cancelling them all together), our team members may need an alternative way to participate in WIDI besides through their schools. That’s where you come in!

Virtual Team Managers will oversee a virtual team that meets for an hour once a week - and we'll build the session around your preferred times and challenge. All costs (including registration, background checks, tournament fees, and Challenge solution budgets) will be covered by WIDI. Training will be provided!

This would also be a great opportunity for any college students studying teaching to get hands-on experience in distance and remote learning, so feel free to share.

As a Virtual Team Manager, you will be provided with a Wisconsin DI email address, and access to our Google Suite (including Google Meet) to facilitate team meetings. You will also choose when you would like your team to meet, what age level you are interested in managing (Elementary, Middle, or Secondary), and what challenge you would prefer. Participants will be asked to sign a parent-student-Team Manager agreement to ensure their continued participation throughout the season.

If the school district that you’ve previously managed in is not allowing extracurricular activities this year, we would also be able to provide a similar experience to already formed teams who are interested in meeting virtually.

Teams can start as soon as all team members are in place. Teams will have a minimum of 5 members, and a maximum of 7 members.

Wisconsin Destination Imagination will handle all team member registrations, fees, and tournament registrations.
