Weston Mental Health Letter
Dear Parents/Guardians,

In order to ensure the well-being of our students, the school system will attend to the social, emotional, and behavioral health of each learner. The physical and mental health of young people plays a key role in their ability to succeed in school. Jackson Parish School District is committed to work with you, not only in the academic education of your child, but also to ensure that students are supported in social and emotional learning.

Jackson Parish School District students will have the opportunity to participate in questionnaires, surveys, and/or screeners related to mental health. These tools are recommended by the District’s Mental Health Team. The screener will assist in identifying risks for social, emotional and behavioral well-being. The program is free, voluntary, and confidential. With your permission, your child has the opportunity to participate in the mental health screening. All screening results will be kept confidential and stored separately from academic records. Parents/guardians will be notified if any concerns are noted.

Please call Bonnie Buckelew, Special Education Director at 318-259-8802 ext. 101 if you have any questions.
