The idea of The African American Club in the Villages started as a conversation piece by several friends. On July 28, 1999, twenty-three people attended the first meeting and each year the membership has steadily grown to approximately 400 members. It is a supportive family environment whose purpose is to promote goodwill, charitable endeavors and friendship through planned educational and social activities. Our business meetings are brief. We emphasize programs that serve to entertain and educate the club membership. We are here for you as your extended family. We have all come to the Villages from various parts of the country in search of a quality retirement life. This will be another opportunity to do good deeds and show our love toward each other.
