Virtual Author Event with Mearns Writers

A literary evening of prose and poetry to launch the anthology Grey Granite Red Earth by Mearns Writers. This collection was produced with the support of Aberdeenshire Council, in particular Kincardine and Mearns Area Committee.

The collection of short stories and poems enshrines the depth and variety of literary talent in the Mearns but also bears witness to the way in which that writing is inextricably bound up with the Mearns itself. Local or inabootcomer alike, the writing here is rooted in the rich clay of its soil; the sea flows salt and sharp through its lines; and the lilt of the Doric often beats at its heart. The event will be a selection of readings from the anthology as well as an opportunity for the virtual audience to ask questions. Poet Chris Powici who wrote the Introduction will read from his new collection.

Please note this event will also take place on Saturday 19th June 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm with different readings.
