  • Unique Japan Product Import

    For the importation of any item into Japan.

  • Please make clear if the item is yours and who is being invoiced for services.

  • Fill in the Billing Name if different to yours.

  • if applicable

  • Ship/Return address for the item.

  • If you have special shipping instructions such as shipping the item with a friend, state his/her name here.

  • Leave blank for UJ

  • Briefly describe the item (ie A Masahiro Wakizashi, A Mumei Katana or A Wave Tsuba, etc). This Product Name may be changed by UJ.

  • Enter a name/code that is unique to this import for your records. Such as 'PB-red-saya' etc.

  • Enter the tracking number of the item if known. For US clients please use USPS Priority Mail International. Contact us before sending, and pack all items very well. Make sure they don't shake in the box.

  • If it's not a sword, leave blank. If this sword is part of a daisho state in koshirae section. One sword per import. If not sure if Katana or Tachi, choose Katana.

  • What is the length of the CUTTING EDGE of the sword approximately (in cm). Be as close as you can, as it is a way of identifying the product.

  • Is the sword signed on the nakago (tang)?

  • For import items that are NOT a sword. if its a daisho set include, such as daisho tsuba, still click tsuba and choose daisho at bottom.

  • Is this fitting a matching pair?

  • Include a clear photo of the box, please label it somehow so we can identify. This question is only for those importing a fitting.

    Upload up to five clear images of your item. Blade, nagago, shirasaya/koshirae, etc. Max 10MB per image.

  • In some cases we cannot repair and may need to create from new. We'll advise once we have the item in hand. Check all that you wish to have. Cost estimates will be provided in advance.

  • Elaborate on what you'd like done to the item or created. State preferred colour choices here for items like the fabric for a fittings box or the colour of a sword bag, if silver, copper or gold habaki, etc. Be as descriptive as you can.

    If you have created files such as Excel, PDF or Word (xlsx, pdf or doc) that helps to better explain what you would like to have completed, please attach here.

  • Does the item have certification already? if it does and you are sending the cert to Japan, be sure to provide a photo/scan of the certification.

    Please provide scans/photos of any certificate(s) you are sending with or without the item.

  • It's best to ship any valuable Juyo certificate separately.

  • Do you require UJ to submit the item for a shinsa (judgement) service? Note, NBTHK results take about 4 months, NTHK-NPO only one month.

  • Would you like us to translate your certificate(s)? Cost is reasonable and accurate.

  • Write in this section if your case is has particular requirements. For example if you require NBTHK for the sword and NTHK-NPO for the koshirae or parts of the koshirae. Or instructions on whether we submit with an old NBTHK paper or not.

  • Let us know if you are sending the item directly to Japan or if you are sending to Pablo first.
