Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 pulled in over $500 million in its first three days of release, Activision has revealed.
Available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 12, the multiplayer first-person shooter broke a franchise record for most combined players, average hours per player and total number of hours played on current generation consoles for a Call of Duty title.
The new game features three main gameplay modes: multiplayer, the Blackout battle royale mode and Zombies.
Compared to last year’s release, Call of Duty: WWII (which was released in November), Black Ops 4 doubled the number of active players on PC over the same three-day release window across its three modes. It also eclipsed Black Ops 3‘s launch in 2015 in terms of total players.
Call of Duty: WWII similarly topped $500 million in its first three days of release before going on to cross the $1 billion mark by year’s end in 2017 (the game hit shelves on Nov. 3).
Earlier this week, Activision announced that Black Ops 4 had set a day-one digital sales record for the Call of Duty franchise.
