GUNS’N’ROSES LOSE ANOTHER MEMBER?

Josh Freese leaves on eve of new album release...

Guns N’ Roses drummer Josh Freese has left the band after nearly two years, on the eve of the release of their new album ‘Chinese Democracy’ according to US reports.

A UK spokesperson for the band told nme.com that she couldn’t confirm or deny the departure, but it was unlikely to change the release date of ‘Chinese Democracy’ as it still hadn’t been confirmed.

She said: “(The album could be) released this year, but I’ll believe it when I see it to be honest. We’ll all just have to wait and see. At the minute it isn’t even on our releases pending list.”

This is just the latest personnel change in the turbulent history of the band, with Freese being the second Guns N’ Roses member in the past seven months to quit. Guitarist Robin Finck left to join Nine Inch Nails in August 1999.

US website AllStar claims that Freese will now go on tour with the band Perfect Circle, which is the side project of former Guns N’ Roses guitar technician Billy Howerdel and Tool lead singer Maynard James Keenan.
