Russia Experiences Hottest January in Recorded History

Over 70 Russian cities experienced the hottest January in recorded history this year.

For the first time, the average monthly temperature was above freezing in Moscow and St. Petersburg — where temperatures were 9.4 degrees higher than normal.

Russia’s Environment Ministry has warned that temperatures in Russia are rising at a faster rate than the rest of the world because of climate change, which will lead to catastrophic consequences if left unchecked.
