True/False 2015 Screener Application
*Applications due by Wednesday, August 6*

The True/False Film Fest has openings on its submissions committee for mid-Missouri-based documentary screeners. Starting this summer and continuing through the end of the year, hundreds of non-fiction films of all kinds (from works of conventional reportage to the avant-garde) will pour in from all around the world, and all of them will be viewed at least once, some several times, by members of our committee. The primary job of a screener is to thoughtfully view and correctly identify films of interest to the True/False programming team. True/False (March 5-8, 2015) is an annual celebration of non-fiction cinema. Its programming department values distinct filmmaking and careful craft; it gives no extra points to "important" messages or stories. In addition to playing some of the year's best non-fiction cinema, True/False also explores chimeric films that straddle the line between fiction and non-fiction.

Screeners are responsible for watching a minimum of 50 films (short films as well as feature-length) over five months and posting capsule-length analyses of the films. In addition, screeners are asked to attend and participate in 2 or more weekly group screenings a month, which occur on Tuesday evenings and include the entire submissions staff. While this is a volunteer position, benefits include a free festival pass (Simple Pass for 50 reviews, Lux for 75 reviews), bonus gear and the chance to see obscure, noteworthy films with other fascinating, talented documentary fans.

If you have any questions about this application or the screening process, please don't hesitate to email Arin Liberman at submissions@truefalse.org
