Dr. Lesli Myers-Small
Hey Learning, We've Got Finished Business

In this week's video message, I was joined by Summer Squad "super heroes" Dr. Danielle Lyman-Torres from the City of Rochester and Patricia Uttaro from the Rochester Public Library and Monroe County Library System.

We visited John James Audubon School No. 33, which is also home to a city R-Center and the Sully Branch Library. This is where we announced several different learning opportunities that are available for Rochester students this summer. For more information, visit www.rcsdk12.org/summer

Kudos to J.U.S.T. L.A.W. Essay Winners and Students from School No. 9

I'd like to congratulate the 12 students who were essay winners in the J.U.S.T. L.A.W. (Justice, Understanding, Societal Trust, Literacy, Attendance, and Writing) program. They wrote essays on "What Justice Means To Me." The J.U.S.T. L.A.W. program involves local judges and teaches students about the judicial system.

Students at Martin Luther King, Jr. School No. 9 created a peace garden in the schools court yard this week! The students, who are part of the SIsters II Sisters program, have been working with the M.K. Ghandi Institute of Rochester and Broccolo Tree and Lawn Care.
