Join us for an exciting field trip to South Branch Wind Farm the day before Global Wind Day, hosted by Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) and EDP Renewables.
Transportation provided: A bus will pick you up and drop you off in Ottawa.
Wind Farm Location: 4344 County Road 16, Brinston, Ontario, L0E 1C0
Site is approximately 70 km south of Ottawa (about a 45-55 min drive)
Pick up & Drop Off Spot: Greenboro OC Transpo Station, 2118 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K1V (parking available at pick up location).
Pick up time: 9:00 am (Please be advised that this time is subject to change)
Personal Protective Equipment: Bring your own safety glasses, hard hat, and steel toed shoes or boots.
Age: For safety reasons you must be 18 years or older to attend.

This is a unique opportunity to explore EDP Renewables’ South Branch Wind Farm and learn about their innovative technologies and impact in the renewable energy sector. The wind farm is approximately 70 km South of Ottawa (about an hour drive) and has been operational for more than 10 years. South Branch Wind Farm has an installed capacity of 30 megawatts (MW) and its generation is equivalent to the consumption of thousands of Ontario homes. During the tour, you will be able to see the turbines up close and check out some of the other project infrastructure, such as the substation and the MET tower.
