In light of the federal government shutdown, GCADV, GNESA, & Raksha have decided to cancel the Stop Violence Against Women Day event for this year. In addition to the shutdown, we anticipate there to be no activity or presence at the Capitol as Super Bowl activities will be occurring throughout the week.
 
Even though we will not be gathering in person we would encourage everyone who registered for the event to continue to mobilize by  "Flooding the Phones" on Thursday, January 31st.  

We will be hosting a facebook live event that morning which will cover the following topics:
• How to look up your representatives' and the phone directory
• Current legislative bills for this session
• Talking points to use on the phone
• Mini Skit on how to talk with your legislator
• How to stay up to date on the issues

We need your continued collective support to advocate for survivors and their families! It is crucial that our legislators continue to hear voices and our stories so that they will continue to support good policies and stable funding for Georgia's domestic violence and sexual assault centers.

In the coming weeks we will share a link to access the documents that would normally be in the folders and how to stay active in your advocacy for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
