A suggestion, if practical: At the conclusion of the Lord's Prayer, the priest blesses, and the choir intones, "Bow your heads unto the Lord." At this point it would be helpful if all servers would remain in place and bow until the choir finishes singing "Bow your heads unto the Lord." It is distracting when the altar boys collect the handouts at this time. More importantly, perhaps, it would be appropriate for all to be bowing to the Lord together. This change would result in a maximum 10 second delay for the servers before reentering the altar.

Is it possible to list the Gospel readings (chapter and verses) for the Holy Unction service?

Start Sunday Liturgy within 5 min scheduled start time, services are long enough and we are routinely starting more than 10 min late.

Please install a small shelf in the ladies bathroom to hold a couple of rolls of toilet paper. Often there are no reserve rolls available, and if there are, they are difficult to find. Thank you. (The shelf can be placed a bit higher so small children do not run off with the rolls!)

Regarding the request for assistance from 8/14, are you able to share the nature of the family emergency?

It would be helpful to have the lights in the parking lot turned on before the evening service begins. It is already very dark at 6 p.m. Thank you.

It is very difficult to find the driveway entrance to the church for evening services, even for those of us who have attended St. Vladimir Church for many years. Please mark the entrance with bold reflectors or some other markers to make the driveway entrance easily visible. Thank you.

Mainly because I could not find information on your web site regarding contacting the leadership, I decided to use this form. Apologies if it is incorrect, I will do better next time.
I am seeking joining an Orthodox Church, as I have fled the liberal 'Progressive', Cultural Marxism that pervades Protestantism and Pentecostalism. The last 'church' I was a member of was an Assemblies of god campus group at EMU, which I graduated from three years ago. I left their 'church' due to irreconcilable theological and worldview differences. Suffice to say, it has not been pleasant as even now I am still stalked and harassed by their ilk everywhere I go.
(I can share more but I wish to not become enraged, needless to say I am still a single man because of their machinations and I may need to see a priest regarding confession of sins regarding thoughts that are most brutally violent regarding them).
I am writing in the hopes of hearing back as I have a couple of serious concerns that I hope can be addressed. I do not believe the questions will require an overabundance of thought to address, or so I hope, and I will be extremely respectful.
1: Is your Church in particular ecumenical?
2: Is your own theological doctrine, as taught, globalist in nature?
Silly questions, perhaps, but I would like them addressed before I hazard venturing to your congregation.
Many thanks in advance, and God bless you.

The weekly bulletin lists a Vigil on Thursday evening, March 29. Is this an error?

Pascal services were nice, the choir sang beautifully. However the singing before midnight was all in slavonic, no idea what was being sung

I enjoyed listening to "A Few Insights Into How American Orthodox Churches Make “Disciples”" from _Ancient Faith Presents_ on Ancient Faith Radio: http://www.ancientfaith.com/podcasts/features/a_few_insights_into_how_american_orthodox_churches_make_disciples

It's 24 minutes long and is relevant and thought provoking with regards to how a parish operates.

I didn't see another place to write with questions, so I hope it is okay that I am using this area to do so. My husband's grandfather was a member of your church for years before his death in 1964 (he is buried in your cemetery). My husband and I are trying to find out if you have any information on him. He never spoke to his family about where he came from in Russia, and now my husband's father has passed so what little information he did have is lost to us. We're trying to know more about him and his Russian heritage. His name was Korney Derhay ... his grave is mispelled as Korney Dergay. He died on July 22, 1964. Any church records that you would have that mention him would be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance if you are able to help. God bless you.

Sing the Creed more slowly (both languages). It seems to pick up speed as it is sung, and it's sometimes difficult to get the syllables out, even in our own language.

Hi! I would like to suggest that your website include contact information like a telephone number or an email address. I can't find them on any of the tabs. I am a non-Russian American living in Ann Arbor and I attended the Russian Festival last summer. It was good fun. I would also like to learn a bit of Russian, mainly just the pronunciation of the alphabet, by reading aloud with a native Russian or two. I already know two or three other languages so I think I could learn to pronounce Russian and read some basic texts without too much trouble. I would be happy to pay one of the members of St. Vladimir's to help me for a few hours. I'm thinking of just 3-4 sessions of an hour each. I can come to you. Please let me know if you have someone available - someone with a good voice and standard Russian pronunciation. Spaseba!

To the parish council: PLEASE do not put a cell tower on the property. I just became aware of this possibility today (2/8), so this is a new voice. 1) There will be a school with young children on the property for significant amounts of time every week. 2) There is NO WAY that any research currently available can guarantee that there are no short or long term negative health consequences from overexposure to this type of radiation. Common sense would dictate to error on the side of caution.

We have "maxed out" the space under the tents. We will need more shelter if we are to continue physically distancing,

It is probably better that the basket of prosphora not be left unattended at the end of the service. A little girl helped herself to one and then placed it back in the basket and selected a different one.

Suggestion for Nativity and Theophany: Initially allow parishioners to sign up for only one of the four services (Vigil for Nativity, Divine Liturgy on Nativity, Vigil for Theophany, Divine Liturgy on Theophany). Then as many as possible will be able to attend at least one of these special services. If space remains, parishioners can sign up to attend some of the other services.

Some parishioners have become lax about signing up for indoor services. They probably see that there will be enough space for them to attend, so they don't bother to sign up. It would be helpful if people would sign up, even if they make a decision shortly before the service begins. Some of us may choose to attend an indoor service based on the number of people who sign up (e.g, we may be comfortable with 15, but not 30.)

How (or do) we Orthodox Christians participate in national days of prayer and fasting that encompass any/all religions?

We need a plan to be sure there is adequate ventilation inside the church during services when the weather is too cool for air conditioning and too warm for heating. Can we open windows? Set the thermostat to "fan" with neither heating nor cooling?

Moderate giving cruel, excessive and austere penances that make coming to Christ more inaccessible and more painful than it needs to be.
No contact please.

The font and the background on the blog make it hard on the eyes to read. I find the white text against the brown background more challenging to read, it makes my eyes tired. I wish it was a dark text set against a light background. Perhaps its only an idiosyncratic problem that no one else has, but I thought I would suggest it in any case.

Suggest that altar servers clean glass over icons after each service (at least those icons in front of the altar).
