Judicial Academy in Serbia hosted the 2nd meeting of the Working Group for improving the multi-annual work plan as part of reform project supported by the EU and the Council of Europe

The Judicial Academy in Serbia held its 2nd meeting of the Working Group from 20-22 March 2023 under the joint EU/Council of Europe project “Support for the Implementation of Judicial Reform in Serbia”. The Working Group, consisting of 14 members, including senior judges, prosecutors, Ministry of Justice assistant ministers, a law professor, and representatives of the Judicial Academy, was established on 25 January to update the Judicial Academy's multi-annual Work Plan and analyse the Law on Judicial Academy, providing recommendations for policymakers on possible amendments.

The 2nd meeting focused on the continuous training of judges and public prosecutors in the Academy's multi-annual Work Plan, with sessions also dedicated to the use of IT tools in continuous training. Council of Europe experts working on drafting the Strategy for e-Academy were brought in to contribute to the process. The experts shared their insights and experiences in using IT tools, identifying best practices and areas for improvement. Discussions emphasised the need to ensure the quality and accessibility of online training resources for judges and prosecutors.

The Working Group's discussions and recommendations made during the 2nd meeting are aimed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Serbia's judicial system. The project “Support for the Implementation of Judicial Reform in Serbia” will continue supporting the Judicial Academy in improving judicial training and performance.
