About this app

The Alert Valley Metro® Safety and Security App offers riders a quick and discreet method for reporting safety and security concerns directly to the police. App users can send photos, six second video, text descriptions, and locations of suspicious people or activities. From the home screen, users have two easy options for contacting the police:

* The “Report an Issue” button allows users to send text or photos directly to the police. To ensure discretion, the camera flash is automatically disabled when photos are taken through the app. When reporting an issue, users can select locations and report categories to assist the police. Riders can also send reports anonymously if they chose.

* The “Call 911” button will connect customers directly the police.

The application is designed for robust operation even under conditions of poor signal strength. If you send a report from an area without cellular/Wi-Fi connectivity, it will be stored and sent when connectivity returns. The system is also designed to send text descriptions before photos so that the police can get information as quickly as possible.

Additional Features:

BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Alerts. BOLO Alerts on Alert Valley Metro® may display alerts from the police about specific persons of interest. For example, Alert Valley Metro® may display information about a missing person or child, such as where they were last seen. If you see a person from a BOLO, immediately call 9-1-1 and send an app report discreetly.

App is kind of useless. Most times, by the time they actually respond, the situation is over or person is gone. Wouldnt need the app if they had better security and if they trained their people to be more observant. Literally saw one guy miss a bag with mickey tall boys in it, and an intoxicated guy with a big gulp cup. Most decently trained security would put two and two together. They don't communicate well either. Sometimes fair checks are done several times within a few stops, or not at all

User friendly design: easy to navigate and set up. Havent used it but I definetly feel kore inclined to report incidents now. I think its a good resource to use riders willing to share what the witnessed or are concerned about. Seems like something they could have built in to the ride kick app instead of creating a whole new app, but i am sure they have good reasons for the decision.

Communication are IRT and often responded to quickly. But you can't replace good workers with crapapps. For example some dude lit up on the train, security boarded then got off and let him stay where he then stalked me from point to point. App is good, some of the folks aren't.
