Flights to Bermuda just got easier to book. And the Atlantic island destination is now that much closer to New York, Boston and Florida thanks to a new airline launched in the past few weeks — in time for those warm winter getaways: BermudAir. It’s the first Bermuda-based airline with year-round service and catering to business and tourism needs with comfort, connectivity, and convenience.

Flights to Bermuda on BermudAir are currently available for the airline’s first three direct routes between Bermuda L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS); Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL); and Westchester County Airport (HPN), located near New York City. These new direct services offer East Coast travelers a direct premium travel option with average flight times of around two hours. BermudAir plans to operate seven weekly flights to Boston, 12 to Westchester, and six to Fort Lauderdale.

Establishing this year-round service is a first step in our journey to redefine the travel experience and we look forward to rolling out our phased introduction of BermudAir’s Aisle Class,” said BermudAir Founder and CEO Adam Scott.

Aisle Class? It could be misconstrued as airline spin for offering aisle seating as a luxury item. However, at BermudAir, it is actually a new twist on cabin comforts in an Embraer E175. The phased introduction calls for BermudAir’s Embraer aircraft to begin service with a standard 88-seat configuration. Only 44 seats will be sold for each flight – all with both window and aisle access and plenty of space for carry-on bags – ensuring a comfortable and spacious in-flight experience for travelers. All flights include free Wi-Fi and entertainment, and at least one complimentary checked bag (or more, depending on fare). BermudAir will provide elevated onboard service, offering travelers freshly prepared light meals and beverage selections from local partners on the island – all part of the signature branding for the airline.

However, following delivery of highly customized and game-changing seating suites on November 1, 2023, flights to Bermuda will bring a new era of business class air travel with the introduction of Aisle Class, a seating concept that eliminates the aisle vs. window seat dilemma. From November onward, BermudAir’s E175s will be configured with just 30 seats to feature unmatched privacy and ample workspace, with only two spacious seats across from each other in each row. Travelers will be able to take advantage of under-seat stowage for a carry-on and personal item, in-seat power, plus free Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi powered entertainment and messaging. The Aisle Class cabin, designed without the need for overhead bins, offers plenty of light and space, and provides a quick boarding and deplaning experience.

Expect to sit in a spacious, all- “Aisle Class” flight to Bermuda, settling in under pink lighting and sipping signature Dark ‘n Stormies (Goslings Black Seal Rum, ginger beer and a lime wedge served over ice). Artisan breads, Ahmani’s cookies, pain au chocolat, quiche Lorraine, rum and vanilla confections wedge into the onboard choices, all complimentary and switched out according to changing seasons.

Fares for these two-hour jaunts start at $199 each way through October, then jump to $999 each way in November, when the airline’s new cabin debuts.

Currently, flights to Bermuda routes from the U.S. East are managed mostly by JetBlue’s daily routes from Boston and JFK on a 140-seat Airbus 220-320. Other Bermuda-bound carriers include American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines.

“We are excited to launch BermudAir as Bermuda’s first carrier, maintaining our commitment to start filling seasonal service gaps and establish frequency of service to and from the island this fall,” said Scott. “Our mission is to elevate the travel experience for everyone and providing well-timed, traveler-centric, stress-free flights to Bermuda on these new routes is just the beginning.”
