Terms of Service 2025

All clients must be over 18 years of age.

A payment is required up front for me to begin actual work.
The details of your commission will be discussed with me before any money changes hands.

The rumors of me being a mind-reader are only sometimes accurate. If you need something completed by a specific time, I will need to know in advance. Rush fees may apply depending on how quickly something is needed.

Speed of completion depends on the scale of the project, my health (mental and physical) and speed of feedback from the client when sharing WIPs.  

If you are commissioning a painting, you have the option of making payments at different stages of completion. Specific arrangements for this are to be made between the artist (me) and the client (you) on request.

If a commission request contains someone’s OC’s that are not your own, please have permission to depict/have those characters depicted.

Full refunds are only available if work has not started. I consider work to have started if I have sent a WIP for approval. After this point, commissions are generally not refundable, but please let me know if you need me to draw something completely different instead.

I am willing to do this once per commission at the sketch stage only. If you need another “major” change to the sketch afterwards- an additional fee for sketching will be required.

If you have a specific requirement for turnaround time, you must let me know in advance.

Sometimes my health has to come first…however; if it looks like an official deadline would be missed, a full refund will be given. (an official deadline is any strict deadline with a specific date that was given by the client and agreed on before work began) If a client engages in, or encourages others to engage in harassment or bullying to try to force me to work faster than my health is capable of:  the project and the client will be dropped.

A PNG, or SVG file will be delivered digitally via your choice of email, messaging service, google drive, or dropbox. WIP images can be requested to check the status of your commission.  I am available at Scalebuttarts@gmail.com and @Scalebutt on Telegram. Please give me some time to respond, as I’m not always at my computer and I also live in a region where the weather can be unpredictable-  This sometimes impacts my connectivity. I try to respond promptly.

All art I create is drawn/painted 100% by me, and is not AI generated in any form. All completed art comes with an optional timelapse video as proof. Digital art is created in CSP, or a combination of CSP and Krita (in the case of pattern designs, as Krita has a built in tiling option and CSP does not) Sometimes I also use Inkscape, if there are requirements for vector-based graphics.

Should the client decide to change or adjust the commissioned works through the use of machine learning or derived technologies, or create derivatives of the commissioned works through the use of machine learning or derived technologies, I will consider this an automatic purchase of exclusive rights and will invoice the client the standard fee per artwork.

If you require exclusive rights, please ask for my commercial contract.

By agreeing to commission me (the artist) you (the client) agree to the terms specified above.
