Dr. Santiago-Frangos has investigated how bacteria regulate their antiphage CRISPR adaptive immune systems, and he co-invented and patented a novel CRISPR-based diagnostic. He Is committed to engaging the next generation of underrepresented high school and undergraduate students interested in science, in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
