SAME Student Competition - 2019
This form is for entries from students in the Sacramento Area.

The deadline for submitting is 4:00 pm On February 8, 2019.

Competition RULES:
1. Partner or individuals allowed: Students are to complete the problems individually or with 1 other student partner.
 
2. Teachers--you must complete the form at this link: https://tinyurl.com/same-teachers2019 or email Lori Fury (lLfury@wpusd.org) to let her know you have students entering the competition. (Not more than 2 entries from each teacher please).

3. Students--Please fill out the below form entirely then email your files to samecompetition@gmail.com. Include your full name in the email.  

4. Non-digital submission: Take pictures or video describing and showing your solution if it is not electronic, then submit  the files by emailing them to samecompetition@gmail.com, makes sure to include your full name in the email. If you would like to turn in your physical poster or other non-digital work, then please contact Lori Fury at Lfury@wpusd.org as soon as possible.

5. Submit by February 8, 2019, 4:00pm: Entries must be delivered to Lori Fury by email Lfury@wpusd.org or mail prior to February 8, 2019, 4:00 pm. Judging will take place before the conference.

For parents: Dear Parent/Guardian:I, Debra K. Stetson, am the Vice President of the Sacramento Area Mathematics Educators (S.A.M.E.) Board and the Director of the California Mathematics Project at Sacramento State (CMPSS). The SAME Board and the CMPSS work together each year to hold a mathematical conference to expand teacher knowledge in education and mathematics.   As part of this conference we are holding a Student Competition. By submitting your work to the S.A.M.E. Student Competition, it becomes property of S.A.M.E. with you cited as the creator.  You also are agreeing to allow us to show your work to other teachers for the purposes of helping them learn strategies for teaching students like you in the future.  If your child participates she/he may be captured in photos/videos of the S.A.M.E. Student Competition.  No student names or teacher names will be used in any public use of photos/videos.  If you consent to your child’s participation in the S.A.M.E.
