Oldham Poverty Truth Launch
The Oldham Poverty Truth Commission is a 12-month exploration of poverty in Oldham. It brings together people with real experience of hardship with others who have the power, influence and authority to do something about it. By starting out with real stories of poverty in Oldham, we hope to change the story of Oldham for good.

The Commission begins it's journey on Mon 27th September, and we want to know your experiences to help guide us develop as full a picture as we can of poverty in Oldham. Answers to the questions below will be collected anonymously by the Commission partners and analysed by the Commissioners to help guide their work.

Oldham's Poverty Truth Commission is jointly managed by Action Together, Shared Health Foundation and Oldham Council. It is part of the national Poverty Truth Network, for which you can find more information is available at www.povertytruthnetwork.org.

A bit about you.... *
Everyone's experience counts, and it helps us to know from what point of view people are sharing. Please select whichever one you feel is most accurate for the reason you are answering these questions today.
What does it mean to you to experience 'poverty'?
Poverty is a lot more than not having money in your pocket. For some inspiration of what 'Poverty' means to others, take a look at this link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/193082823@N05/51439924240
What has made a difference to you, friends or family when you have faced poverty?
The Commission has been thinking about 'snakes' and 'ladders' that make a difference in people's lives. What 'snakes' have been a drag when you're trying to make progress and what 'ladders' have lifted you up?
What do you most want to change through this Commission?
We can't change what you went through, but your experience can help change things for people in the future. What would be top of your list of things that need to change to get rid of your 'snakes' and make the 'ladders' easier to climb?
