TOWN OF MENASHA, Wis.—Advancing technology has caused a Town of Menasha business to call it quits.
Alice Woelffer and her US/Canadian Map Co. have been helping travelers find their way around for 30 years. Woelffer has it all—fishing maps, topographical maps, national ocean charts and more.
But the increasingly popular global positioning systems have cut into her business. Woelffer says the last five years have been slower because of the GPS devices.
During her travels in retirement, Woelffer says she’ll stick with what she knows best—the old-fashioned paper map.
