Are these irons similar or am I seeing things?
Have a line on a set of CBs, played the R11 demos at my country club last year and really liked them.

They are rather similar. The CBs have forged faces, where the R11s are cast.

Yup, they're similar. R11 pretty much has a different shaft, is forged, and different colors. Any questions about a specific aspect of them?

I liked my R11's over the CBs because they had a better dispersion. I also felt like I got better contact on them as well compared to the CBs and I actually consider myself to be a decent ball striker. But why not hit up a local store and hit them side by side and see the results for yourself!

When they introduced the r11s the stopped making the cb's as far as I could tell it was a red weight slightly different shape to the back of the cavity and as mentioned they stopped forging the face.

I launch the ball very high with my Burner 1.0s. Looking for a little more advanced club with lower launch and like the smaller profile of the R11 irons.

They sound like they could be a great fit, have you considered other brands?

Have hit Callaways in the sim. Just not a fan of the shape/look. I have a comfort level with TM clubs. If I was to try anything else it would probably be Wilson or Cleveland

I was just wondering. Everyone has a brand or brands, I have never felt comfortable over most cally equipment myself

there are a few differences. along with the forged vs cast and the color, the r11 iron is bigger and more offset than the cb's and also the top line is thicker on the r11. i took a long time pondering irons and hit balls with the r11, cb's and mb's. i ended up going with my 712 mb's because i just didnt like how big the head were on the r11 and the cbs.

I came out of Wilson Fat Shaft irons which seemed to have smaller heads than my Burners. The Burners were the first new set of irons I have ever purchased and I do like them but I feel like the heads are bulky( now that I have played a ton of golf in the last 18 months) and love the way the R11s look when I stand over them so just wondering if my perception will be reality or not. They hit great in the sim (r11) for me.

I bought the TP CBs last month & I love them. I'm striking the ball much better now than when I was playing my Ci7s. I think the reason my ball striking has improved with these irons is because the shafts are a better fit (length & flex).

My confidence standing over the ball with an iron is at all an time high now.

Can you take the CB's out for a test round? I liked how the R11's looked behind the ball and just hit them better than the CB's.

I haven't hit the R11's but own the TP CB's. If you have decent ball striking and can get the TP's for a good price I would jump on it. In my opinion they look better at address and give great feedback on hits. Mine have the true temper dynamic gold xp S300 shafts which give me a higher ball flight than my previous clubs with regular R300s but haven't had any problems with ballooning.

Ive been eyeing the TP MC's anyone know how those stack up?

I, uhh, might know a guy pretty willing to let a 3-AW set of 11s go......

see sig

I played with both of them, and they performed similar, except the CB had a lower ball flight for me. I loved the way the CB felt, and the shafts were a pretty good fit for me, but the R11 irons were more forgiving. At the moment, the R11s can still be bought in town for cheap, but the CB were discontinued.

To answer the question above, I also spent some time playing with the MC, they felt great, looked good at impact, but I couldn't hit the long irons well, I needed the forgiveness that it was lacking. The MC are less forgiving than the CBs in my experience.

Now the either day I tried out the MB and was blow away, I've never hit a mid iron the way I hit the MB, but again it was too unforgiving for my uses. I am not too sure about this, but the R11 lofts might be a bit stronger than the MB, MC, and CB.

Thanks for the comments all.

I think after a few more warm up rounds in Wisconsin with my current irons I will try to get an extensive session with some R11 irons. At my club last fall I was able to hit the 6 iron demo and loved the ball flight. Someone mentioned the R11s being more forgiving and I think I still need that despite my improvement.

I've hit both on a sim and preferred the CB. Mind you they had Project X Flighted 95 shafts in them and the R11 had DG S300 so that was a big part of it. I found the CB to have really tight dispersion and had amazing feel to them. They were m second choice when I got my current irons.
