Squirmy & Grubs #4 aka scammy and grabby

About a year ago I posted the information from LAMN's 990 Forms for 2015 through 2018. I thought I'd update it through 2019, the last year on file. A single 990 form is 36 pages single-spaced. Many pages have no entries, and it can be a little difficult to pull pertinent information from one. I'm not a tax accountant and don't play one on television, but I've read quite a few 990s for other non-profits. My apologies in advance for the length of this. All information from GuideStar.

Cliff Notes version:

Total revenue for 2019 was $200,230. In 2019 Shane and his cousin, Sarah, collectively drew salaries and compensation of just over $100,000. A total of 30 recipients received $66,232 or an average of $2208. So in 2019 Shane and Sarah together drew 50% more out than was distributed to people with muscular dystrophy in the form of equipment grants.

For 2015:

Total revenue was $154,799 which included "contributions and grants, program service revenue, and other revenue."

Expenses totaled $141,152 which included "salaries, other compensation, and employee benefits" of $83,386. The amounts would have been broken down by salary (only) by officer on the 2015 990 but was only a total comp package compared to 2016 on the first page. Individual compensations aren't listed until several pages down and are only for the current year (2016), and unless I'm missing something (which wouldn't be difficult), they only include individual "salaries." "Other compensation and employee benefits" are not included in salaries (if that makes sense).

Revenue less expenses totaled $13,647.

For 2016:

Total revenue was $190,197.

Expenses totaled $150,898 which included "salaries, other compensation, and employee benefits" to President Shane, VP Sarah, and Treasurer, Erinn, of $99,083 and the $28,136 in adaptive equipment (based upon cost) that was distributed to 17 recipients for an average gift of $1655. The 3 individual SALARIES only (no "other" or "benefits") were $27,923 to President Shane, $40,788 to Sarah, and $21,606 to Erinn. Those total $90,317 which means $8766 in "other compensation and employee benefits" was divided in some way among 1, 2, or all 3 of them. These are the numbers I don't see any breakdown of.

Revenue less expenses totaled $39,299.

For 2017:

Total revenue was $169,609.

Expenses totaled $137,415 which included salaries and other compensation to Shane and Sarah only. SALARIES alone were $28,808 for Shane and $42,183 to Sarah for a total of $70,991. "Other compensation and employee benefits" for the two of them totaled $7864. Total compensation for the two of them totaled $78,855. A total of 26 recipients received $31,154 or an average of $1198.

Revenue less expenses totaled $32,194.

For 2018:

Total revenue was $229,916.

Expenses totaled $172,173 which included salaries and other compensation to Shane and Sarah. SALARIES alone were $34,763 for Shane and $44,893 for Sarah for a total of $79,656. "Other compensation and employee benefits" for the two of them totaled $9543. Total compensation for the two of them totaled $89,199. A total of 16 recipients received $64,096 or an average of $4006.

Revenue less expenses totaled $57,743.

For 2019:

Total revenue was $200,230.

Expenses totaled $198,372 which included salaries and other compensation to Shane and Sarah. SALARIES alone were $44,615 for Shane and $46,923 for Sarah for a total of $91,538. "Other compensation and employee benefits" for the two of them totaled $9221. Total compensation for the two of them totaled $100,759. A total of 30 recipients received $66,232 or an average of $2208.

Revenue less expenses totaled $1,858.

At the end of fiscal year 2019 total assets were $194,623, total liabilities were $4501, and net assets were $190,122.

There is a 5-year tabulation of total support which came 100% from the public. I'm not sure what the differences between these numbers and the total revenue numbers listed above (in green). Those amounts are:

2015: $175,683

2016: $204,626

2017: $183,164

2018: $243,764

2019: $174,315

Five year cumulative total: $981,552.

Thank you for your very well written/detailed writeups on LAMN's 990 forms, fredflintstone! It is shocking to see that the more LAMN earns each year, the smaller their already miniscule margin becomes for donating to the disabled. They're masquerading as a non profit, when almost all donations go directly to their ever increasing salaries. Shane should change his organization's name to "Laughing At My Donors".

(Someone posted a documentary about devotees in an older thread here and that was part of it.) She also came on to him in her first e-mail to him, with her flirty: "I think you're cute." Right away she expressed physical attraction. This, I believe, is their big secret that constantly puts them on the defensive and in chronic attack mode. In fact, someone in the comment section in one of their 1st or 2nd videos asked Hannah if she was a devotee and Hannah answered with: "While I have great respect for the (devotee) community, I don't think I am." And, yes, both the comment and the response have long been deleted.

I'd never heard of devotees until you said this. So I have spent a few hours watching and reading things about them and I think I understand what's going on now. Her obsession with showing his body off in the pool, the bathroom, on the loo. Her insane laughter as he describes things like his fall from the ramp, his bedsores, his tooth abscess. Her habit of sitting beside him as his head lolls to the side without any attempt to correct it . She is getting off on his level of disability. It excites her. She isn't looking past his physical limitations at all. It's his disability and the severity of it that turns her on. It also explains all the comments about how "sexy" he is and how "handsome" Those people are getting off on the same things she is.

That's really dangerous because it means she has no motivation at all to help him maintain any level of physical well being or independence. The more disabled he becomes, the more she'll like it. That may well explain why the bionic arm disappeared off the map. That arm would have taken away some of the very thing which attracts her - his helplessness.

That's evil.

It also explains why the foundation now gives out so little in aid to the disabled community. This sick witch has taken "being an advocate for disability" to mean she advocates fostering the greatest degree of disability possible. Mobility aids and other devices which foster independence are precisely what she wants curtailed.

As I said - she is evil and if he's aware of this, which surely he must be - then so the duck is he.

She was an Occupational Therapist who had been married to someone with a debilitating disease that killed him. I can't remember the disease. Then she was dating a man with a disability.
Her vlogs bothered them because she was smart, articulate and kind. So they had their fans attack her online and in real life. (Chronic Mom)

The other people that have made vlogs discrediting them have been nut jobs so S&G doesn't care about them like they did her.

Thank you for giving out the details. All her original videos are gone - along with her original channel. She shut it down because she was afraid for her family's safety after the threats started coming in. She then re-opened her channel but altered the name of it. Chronic Mom Voice was the original name (I think) but it no longer exists.

I wonder if the "fan" who hunted her down and found out her real name, called the hospital where she worked to complain about her, sent threats, etc. was actually Hannah trying to shut this woman down. At the time this I was sure it was just a crazed fan. Hannah definitely has some issues but I didn't think she was capable of that kind of behavior. Now my opinion has changed.

Could it be that he is just in sad denial about the true nature of their relationship? Finally, he finds a woman who won't leave him who everyone thinks is so hot. In a way, this was his only chance. Still is.

There is one vlog talking about S&G on the second channel she made. She and her ex talking about it. Some of S&G fans have actually made fun of her ex's appearance/voice in the comments, he has a disability. Can I post the vlog here? Not sure about the rules.

I agree, I believe Hannah will do anything. She sent her fans to rage on and shut down a GFM for a wheelchair for a kid because she didn't like the way it was worded. Hannah may have called the wording ableist, can't really remember, but she did a vlog on it and the fans jumped on it. I will see if I can find the vlog if anyone is interested. Nope, she called it "Inspiration Porn" I found the video, starts at 3 min in, it shows what a hypocrite and liar Hannah is and this sent hundreds of fans to shut down that go fund me.

It will be interesting to see how their 2020 Form 990 looks, what with the $100 giveaways they announced last year. They were begging for donations so they could "help more people," and IIRC they said they gave away at least 2 100-count rounds of $100 gift cards, maybe 3. That would mean they needed to take in $20,000 to $30,000 to cover those expenditures alone. At least they'll have bragging rights. "LAMN was able to help hundreds of people in 2020."

All I hear is jealousy in Hannah’s voice or something. Why would she be mad at that? It’s not like they don’t say things all the time to try and get money, or sympathy.

Her fake stare at shane all video is simply acting. The most common comment they get now is "just look at the way she looks at him". So now she makes sure to do it every single video. But look at their first videos, she almost never sat there and looked at him with the fake smile. Its just an image that evolved over time, its the best they can do to appear genuine which for me only has the opposite effect.

According to their audience, Shane's genius level comedy is what makes him so hot. Comments are loaded with variations of "I see why Hannah is so into him. He's hilarious and that's such a turn on"

Squirmy & Grubs #5 - Paula Pregnancy and Pampers

Smdh at their simple minded fans who claim that they're crying/dying from laughter over Shane's alleged hilarity. That dream of his was oozing with unresolved insecurity and guilty conscience. His delivery of it was not funny. Yeah, all those attractive, athletic girls (his "type") he tried to hit on in college didn't give him the time of day because they all had the iron clad will to resist his sexy, comedic ingenuity. Riiiiight. Only when he could afford to put his dream girls on the LAMN payroll (only young, blonde, athletic, and pretty need apply!) and flaunt them in all his public endeavors did his lame "humour" become supposedly charming, attractive, and drop dead hiLaRioUs.

Oh, and I guess we're all Paula by their "logic"
