Participation in the PDP workshops requires instructional fees and travel/lodging expenses. As part of the application process, you will be required to submit a cost planning worksheet, which breaks down the cost of each part of the program, and is your application for ISEE funding support. ISEE support/funding is not guaranteed, but do not hesitate to apply.

Applicants will receive information on acceptance and any funding award by January 22, 2020. Please wait to make any travel/accommodation plans for the program until you have received official notification of acceptance.  

By completing this application, you are applying to the entire 2020 Professional Development Program, which requires FULL participation in ALL program workshops and activities as follows:

1 - INQUIRY INSTITUTE: A 4-day intensive experience held at the Hyatt in Monterey, CA: April 4-7, 2020.

2 - DESIGN INSTITUTE: A 2.5 day intensive experience. Participants attend only one Design Institute, usually at the location closest to their home institution:
Houston DI: April 24-26, 2020
Santa Cruz DI: May 1-3, 2020

3 - Facilitation Workshop: Scheduled at intervals close to team teaching time.  Offered in-person or via video conference, depending on team location.  Approximately 2 hours.

4 - Each of the institutes and workshops above include some reading assignments prior to attendance.  

5 - Participation on a design and teaching team – beginning at the Inquiry Institute and through the Design Institute, then continuing after to plan and teach an inquiry activity.  Each participant contributes ~20 hours of work between the end of the Design Institute and their teaching date.

6 - In-person team debrief and written individual report on your experience.  A template for the report is provided.

The approximate time commitment for PDP participation as above varies, but is typically around 90 hours.
