5 Oct 2013: Scott Kelby’s 6th Annual Worldwide Photo Walk™

It's that time again!! Scott Kelby announced the date for this year's Worldwide Photowalk. Anyone else participate? I've gone to 4 of the last 5 and enjoyed them very much. It is a great way to meet local photographers, spread the Nikonites word (I wear my hat!) and potentially learn a thing or two. I'm fortunate that there are a few close locations to choose from and I try to go to a different place each year. Highly recommended!!!

Not sure yet Jake. . . last year I went to Stockton NJ for the sunrise and it was pretty cool. Now that it is public I expect that more locations will get added pretty quickly. You're in Southern Jersey, right?

Nope, other end. I'm surprised there's nothing up near the Delaware Water Gap, but perhaps that will change?

Hey Jake I noticed that walks have been added in Morrisville PA and Princeton NJ. I haven't been to either place but am leaning towards Princeton. Any recommendation?

Grew up just outside of Princeton but haven't been back to photograph. Lots of very interesting stuff in and around there given the diversity of the housing and the university. Get there early enough and you can stand in line at PJ's Pancake House for an hour, eat, and then be ready for the walk. Or go straight up the street to Hoagie Haven for a Bacon Cheesesteak. I know it sounds like sacrilege to someone from Philly, but having spent years eating Philly steaks I have to tell you that this variation is not one to be missed. After the walk you need to hit the Tap Room at the Nassau Inn to have a pint while staring at their original Norman Rockwell.

Oh yeah, and there should be lots of things to take photos of in between. LOL

Right now I'm leaning towards that one.

I signed up for Princeton just to try the cheese steak!!

I'll ping you as it gets closer. Would love for my brother to join us, but I have a feeling he'd want to avoid a crowd of 50 clickers and just go somewhere on his own.

Sounds good. One of my friends has also signed up and I've asked a couple others if they are interested. Maybe we can get JDEG to join us?

Oct 5th in Princeton? Hrm, I'll have to check my calendar...

I'm signing up for Destin, Florida. Doggone it! It's also where there's a seafood festival going on, that day!!

Hey jdeg did you ever sign up?

I was just looking at the map and see that there's a couple in Philly now too, but if you guys are going to Princeton then i'll go to that.

I have at least three other folks I know coming to Princeton too.

There are a ton of them around me (NH,MA) but unfortunately I have a commitment to hop on the motorcycle and ride to NY State (Catskills) that day... Looked like fun... Maybe the next time...

Where is the sign-up for a particular photowalk? I found the website which contains locations but didn't see any way to sign up or where any specific info is (such as an initial meeting place). When looking at the one for Princeton, there is a '2' listed with it. Does that mean only 2 people signed up so far for that one? Not sure I could even attend, but there is one close to me. Thank you for any help!

Hmmm. Just noticed there's a walk at Merrill Creek Reservoir near my home from 4:15-6:30pm. I could conceivably pull a two-fer. There's also one at Washington's Crossing State Park from 6-7:30pm if you Philly folks want to catch one on the way home. I also see there's a second walk in Princeton from 12:45-3pm, though I think the morning is a better option for me.

I did a twofer a couple years ago (downtown Philly and West Chester). Long day but fun. One of my friends, who is attending the Princeton walk, goes to the re-enactment of the crossing every year at Washington's Crossing.

Hark as Jake said a second walk in Princeton was added. We've signed up for the earlier one here.
