Oceana County Fair expected to go on as planned.

HART — The Oceana MSU Extension Office announced Wednesday, March 18, that the Oceana County Fair is expected to go on as planned amid the coronavirus epidemic.

“We have been contacted with concerns if our Oceana County Fair will be postponed this year due to COVID-19 concerns. Our 2020 fair is set to happen at its normal date of Aug. 25-29,” states a Facebook post by the Oceana MSU Extension Office.

“We strongly encourage all of our residents to take everything one day at a time. Things can change quickly, but thankfully we have one of the latest fairs of the summer. We hope that the COVID-19 concerns will not impact our fair, of course pending any decisions made at our state and federal levels.

“But currently, we will continue with our 2020 fair as planned.”

The Oceana County Fair is the second-longest running fair in Michigan, and the 2020 fair will be the 148th annual event.
