Mary L. McCoy, Ms. Senior D.C. 2012, was a recent
standout at the DC Senior Games, winning 10 medals in Bowling, the Football
Throw, Softball and Track and Field.
McCoy received Gold for Bowling/Doubles, the shot put, the 50M and the
long jump. She received Silver or second place in the 100m dash, 400m dash and
the Discus. She received Bronze medals
in Bowling/Singles and the Softball throw.
She has competed in the local games presented by the
Department of Parks and Recreation over the last few years since retirement and
was featured on the poster for the event.
She has kept active over the past few years and bowls once a week with a
senior group in the area. "It's
amazing to me, I ran track in high school and now as a senior citizen I can
still participate in a sport I enjoyed as a teenager," said McCoy.
We salute McCoy and all our senior athletes that
participated in the DC Senior Games held in May.
